★ Billy Roisz
Billy Roisz ist eine in Wien lebende Künstlerin. Sie ist Autodidaktin, ihren kreativen Humus sieht sie im extrem offenen DIY-Umfeld der digitalen und analogen Elektronik- und Noiseszene im Wien der 1990er Jahre (phonotaktik, rhiz, mego, vidok, klingt.org). Seit 1998 arbeitet sie mit den Medien Video und Sound. Sie experimentiert mit der Verknüpfung auditiver und visueller Reize basierend auf dem elektrischen Signal bzw. auf elektromagnetischen Frequenzen. Die Ästhetik der Bild- und Tonstörung, wie zum Beispiel Feedback und Verzerrungen, ist eines ihrer zentralen Experimentierfelder, die Verschränkung und Umzweckung von bild- und tongenerierenden Instrumenten ihr technischer Arbeitsansatz. An der Schnittstelle zwischen analog und digital baut die Künstlerin ihre Set-ups und untersucht das jeweilige Signal in Ihrem audio-visuellem Labor. Ihre radikalen, wahr- nehmungserweiternden Arbeiten hinterfragen und erschüttern erlernte Seh– und Hörgewohnheiten. Billy Roisz macht in ihren Arbeiten das Bild hörbar und den Ton sichtbar.
Die künstlerische Umsetzung erfolgt in Form von audiovisuellen Live- Performances, Videoarbeiten und Rauminstallationen, oft solo, aber auch in enger Zusammenarbeit mit Künstler*innen aus dem Bereich experimenteller Elektronik und Noise, aber auch komponierter neuer und alter Musik, Film, Tanz und Performance. Ihre Arbeiten wurden auf zahlreichen internationalen Festivals (u.a. Berlinale, IFF Rotterdam, Transmediale, Sonic Acts, Biennale Sao Paulo, 8 Brücken Festival Köln, Sonic Acts Amsterdam, Donaufestival Krems) und in renommierten Galerien und Museen (u.a. Tate Modern, South London Gallery, Centre Pompidou, MACBA Barcelona, Museo Serralves Porto) präsentiert.

★ Magnetoceptia
Magnetoceptia is a collaborative project by Dewi de Vree (NLD) and Patrizia Ruthensteiner (AT). Crinolettes – Gyration Resistance is a site-specific radio-ballet based on transformative wearable antennas. As a reinterpretation of the historical female clothing element the ‘Crinoline’, a hooped cage initially worn under petticoats, the antennas now function as physical extensions of the performer’s bodies and technological expansion of the human senses – shifting symbols of restriction into emancipatory tools of liberation. The rotating spheres receive site-specific electromagnetic waves which are made audible and processed as raw sound material into a musical composition. The signals are dependent on the position of the performers relating to the space and each other.
